SKLeague's finals are this weekend in Saskatoon, with $6,000 on the line

Season two of Saskatchewan’s League of Legends esports circuit is coming to a close this weekend. 

The top four teams will battle it out in SKLeague’s finals at Sandman Saskatoon on May 14 and 15 for a $6,000 prize pool. The teams include returning champions Malicious Intent (Formerly Vicious & Delicious), Vis Major, Fellowship of the Nerds and Lunatic Peace. 

Twenty-seven teams and 189 players took part in SKLeague’s second season. The league is Saskatchewan’s first provincial esports organization. 

The finals will be open to spectators and admission will be free. It will also be broadcast live online on SKLeague’s Twitch channel

League of Legends is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) that has 27 million players daily. Since the esports industry rose to prominence in recent years, $157 million dollars in prize money has been awarded.
